I think it's more about the vibe you create during the week and ahead of the games. Fergie always wanted to create calm and comfort for the players, both before and during games. I remember Fletcher saying that even before a European Cup semi final he was sat with his feet up reading the paper. All about keeping the team calm.

Both ways work, and both ways can look helpless. When your team is falling apart sitting silently on the bench can annoy people. At the same time, If you're ranting about and creating havoc and the players are showing no composure as a result, are you helping?

Tbf, he has a point. Brian Horton, Frank Clark, jimmy frizzel are probably more becoming of the role than pep but it's humbling to think he feels he can't be considered against those greats.
