Matic Pogba

Sancho Bruno Ronaldo

Greenwood

If Sancho isn’t fit then only may we see Beek with Pogba further forward IMO

We've got a league winning defence and attack.

And a central midfield most championship sides would be embarrassed with.

Can’t see Ronaldo being anywhere other than bang up top.

I reckon Sancho will be rested/ re-phased in too. Depending on midfield choices, wouldn’t surprise me if he started that little weasel Lingard, although probably more likely Martial.

De Gea

AWB
MAGUIRE
VARANE
SHAW

MATIC
POGBA
BRUNO

MASON
MARTIAL
RONALDO

Will be very surprised to see Ronaldo playing out wide much this season.

I think he will be the centre forward, and Ole will want him in the penalty box as much as possible.

The other attackers will have to fit around him.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was givien a license to roam anywhere in or around the box, with Cavani or Mason being used more of a traditional 9. Will give defenders nightmares.

Yep. Possibly in a two with Cavani at times as well.

How would playing Cavani and Ronaldo as a two work?

I could sort of see it if we played 5 at the back.

Doesn’t pose many more questions than what we usually do.

Ole alluded to it last week too.

Was the most recent of those (1997-98) the last time we were defeated there in the league btw? Was wondering after the recent encounter.

We lost there around 2004? 05? 1-0. I think it was a Beattie header late on.

Actually early on in the 2003/04 campaign - must admit that one had slipped my memory entirely.

Also lost there in the trio of defeats that ended the 2000/01 league season.

Ole on Ronaldo:

...he will definitely be on the pitch at some point, that’s for sure.

Got to be honest, bit bored with the Ronnie hype already. Feels like everyone feels the need to overplay everything these days to be heard at all.

Was 100% more arsed about him not playing for city tbh.

And the whole thing has only achieved a 7/10 on my excitement scale.

It is overboard but I'm still buzzing.

They are without Wilson, so surely it's a cakewalk.
