If we got rid of Lingard and signed Brooks for maybe a little more than we get for Lingard then that would be good business and would really improve the squad

Just sign them both
Even more reason to go with Brooks over Grealish

The price seems to be 40m. That’s way to expensive. I’d stay away for that price tbh

They can £#%&! off then.

Wonder what the price would be if we weren't Man United? About £25mil?

£40m ffs - I think he's a fine player, shown he can contribute at a side that has really struggled to score goals over the last few seasons & his absence was a huge part of them going down.

Still... £40m! Donny van der Beek is going for that much & Ziyech cost less - these are players with genuine European pedigrees & far superior stats.

PL prize money is so obscene that domestic transfers make little sense unless you're getting someone with a buyout clause or are approaching the last year of their deal.

he'd be a great signing. Straight into the first team as well.

but yeah, 40m for a player at a relegated club, that makes sense

Like Ake?

I assumed the current situation would make clubs deal with transfers with a modicum of sense. Turns out Football is still a @#%&!s game.

Tbf Woodward has probably offered a load of add ons (if it’s even true)

25m fee with add ons such as if he becomes world footballer of the year and discovers Atlantis etc.

If by “sage” you mean started a thread on every single professional player in Europe at one point or another, then yes.

Not sure comparing stats of Brooks and lads who play for Ajax in a terrible league is the fairest comparison tbf.

Thought he was good at Bournemouth season before last. Lovely player and I wanted Utd to take a punt. Was he injured a lot last season.

Get him in.
