Food of the Gods

How do you do yours....?

Why the heck do they take 2 hours to cook but 5 minutes to eat.

You can mate, but if you have a spare couple of hours, plan it in and use the oven....

I normally do them in the microwave for a bit to get them started, then bung them in the oven to crispen up. Don't taste as good as the pure oven babies, but cuts down on the cooking time quite a bit.

A good compromise is to cook the potato in the microwave until it's almost cooked through and then pop it in to a preheated oven to finish it off for 30 minutes or so. Always wash the potato first then ***** it all over with a fork. For a really crispy skin, you can rub a little oil over it and some Rock salt (for oven cooking).

i like filling mine with left over Bolognese or Chillie con carne mix's.

Spicey.

most worth saying has been said already, but i'll go ahead anyway...

coat with olive oil, sea salt an black pepper. 45 mins a side at 150c in a preheated oven. 170 if you don't have a fan assisted oven.

fave topping - tuna, sweetcorn and grated colliers cheddar.

failing that, as bunks said, any leftover, chilli, bolognese, curry will do.

when i was about 17-18 i used to eat a baked potato, 3 saveloys and a lake of salad cream almost every day for about a year

hardly ever see sav's up north. dissapointing. every chippy should sell them.
