Everton clearly lack quality that’s obvious to see and City play some of the best possession based football in europe it was always going to be an uphill task for them tbh

for Everton to go into half time 0-0 was a result in itself considering how little of the ball they had

just wish they had James Rodriguez fit to give them a fighting chance

They won’t. Something will give somewhere along the line. We have this talk most years. I don’t fancy them for the CL and it wouldn’t surprise me if Jose pulled a result out of his arse in the league cup, which he’ll dine out on for years.

Bang on, we have shown that a bit of hard work goes a long way against them. Bayern, Madrid and maybe even Dortmund . Dortmund might pull it off on the match winners they have , despite them being absolute dogshit the likes of haaland and Sancho cause give them issues

would be nice if Mourinho could muster one last death rattle before he gets canned from spurs.

They might score a couple put their defence is shambolic. City will win the tie about 7-2 on aggregate.

Bayern will win the CL.
Mourinho knows the League Cup is his lifeline. Lose that & he's gone.

More so his own career and reputation . He will want it more for personal reasons than for Tottenham.

His ego and narcissism might just come in handy vs them.

City have a lot to prove in the CL. On paper, they look a good bet, but we’ve said that and then some in years they’ve been jettisoned by Lyon, Spurs and Monaco.

They’ve got a mental aspect to get over and the competition won’t give them the in-game passive fawning that our league is doing right now.

And quite simply, they’ve won 23 of their last 24 matches. That simply isn’t sustainable.

And for all his flaws, he likes ‘match play’ situations and being the underdog. City are clearly favourites and I think they’ll win, but a 1-0 with a late Son goal wouldn’t surprise me.

Hopefully the international break interferes with their momentum

it's all part of the same thing. He gets potted by Spurs & he'll doubtful get another top job again.
And he needs that.

.
That's exactly right. In the champions league they come up against teams who aren't so enthralled with them as the sycophants are over here. Clubs who don't turn up with damage limitation on their mind. PSG are the same, roll over everyone in their own league but come into the champions league and find that clubs of far more stature and pedigree aren't intimidated by them.

Our media and football are intoxicated with Guardiola that it's got to a stage now where teams see playing city as a hiding to nothing. It was like that against us at one stage but we were never as methodical and machine-like as this lot.

No way they beat Bayern in the CL. Even Psg would be a toss up. They only look as good as they do in the league because of opposition like Everton were yesterday. They had zero passion.

You would've thought that after our win teams would realise that if you get at them they are beatable. Sitting back and inviting them at you, and just praying that something might break for you at some point in 90 minutes is £#%&!ing pathetic and just asking to get beat down.

Agree with 99'ers that Bayern would be favourites against them, and PSG would give them a go. Even Dortmund have a good chance, basically any team that have the balls to take the game to them. It's probably why they've struggled against the likes of Lyon and Monaco in previous Champions League campaigns, not being from the same league they don't mentally fold before a balls even kicked.

Every year it’s the same thing with City’s press acolytes, Quadruple..Treble...They’ll end up with the same thing they always do, League and League cup.

The best European teams are not bewitched by them the same way the Premier League teams are. Look at yesterday; it must have been clear to Everton they were going to lose, so why not give it a go? Lose 4-0 committing men forward and taking the game to them rather than 2-0 getting your tummy tickled.

It’s a one off knockout game ffs. Everything they earned against Spurs meekly given back. Shameful.
