Why 5th?

I think Liverpool, Arse and City are nailed on for top 3

Then we are in a mortal battle for 4th and I think we will slip behind one of Newcastle/Chelsea/Spurs.

It all depends on the fitness of 4 or 5 key players

One of our interchangeable fannies (Sancho, Anthony, Sancho, Martial..) to make an impact.

Common sense suggests people should at least wait until the transfer window SLAMS SHUT before making definitive predictions.

Our terrible start last season meant we belatedly strengthened the squad, the same may yet happen after today.

True. And all indications are (even before today) that we will sign if we can shift Donny, Maguire or anyone else, which we should do.

We’ll get one more, maybe two. I’d love to see Amrabat and an experienced striker in. Even a Cavani-esque loan would be useful to help bed Hojlund in.

Will wait until the window slams shut, but I expected us to sort the problems out in the squad and replace the players we sold with better ones. If that’s not to be the case, the only one I’m likely to change is the first one.

Guess we are in the annual panic buy area of the window . Hopefully The Scottish Player and Bailey are binned for a combined 30 mill . Looks like Amrabat deal is sewn up wrt to fees/contract agreed

If our business is done it will be 5th, maybe 6th.
