If it was one or two, fine, but it's everyone. There is not a single squad member who looks better under Mourinho. Not one.

Lindelof looks like total shit. Goes to the world cup and does well. Comes back and goes to shit.

Did anyone watch Lukaku play for Belgium btw? Yeah he still missed chances, but £#%&! me he was linking up properly with hazard and De Bruyne and generally looked a lot better than he often does for us.

He's spot on about the way teams approach us to. There's nothing in the way we play that worries the opposition.

It must be a dream to play against. Defend in numbers, keep your shape, be aggressive with your press and bully the centre halves. Do that and you're halfway to winning the battle and winning the match.

And a £#%&!ing league one side would feel confident of doing those basics.

Pretty much everything is wrong with us. We're punchless, slow, lazy, disorganised, weak, petulant, dispirited. We have no defined way of playing and we panic when we go behind.

When all the problems are there, that's the managers fault.

And adding Harry £#%&!ing Maguire won't change that.
... and how did we play when Van Gal was the manager, or when Moyes was here ?

he should have been fired after the cup final.

Somebody has clearly decided that we're not spending until next summer.

So he stays.

Whether he's got the stomach to get himself sacked is another matter.

Badly. In different ways.

They weren't very good. And neither is Mourinho. All of them were hired by the wrong people with very little thought and All of them deserved to be sacked.

They talk plenty of sense tbf. Obviously calling LvG a pragmatist loses him a few points, but otherwise hard to argue.

they're right. the squad we have is definitely good enough. does anyone think if the likes of guardiola or klopp had squads featuring players of the calibre of lukaku, martial, sanchez, pogba, bailly and de gea, with rashford, mata and herrera as backup options, they would do a poor job?

on paper we could win the league. just not with this guy at the helm. i've defended him countless times on here but i'm starting to realise that we won't compete with his style of play.

chelsea in 2015 got away with it because everyone else was crap that season, but with this stupidly good city side and a seemingly resurgent liverpool, plus spurs and then sarri's chelsea, it's not enough.

also, they're spot on regarding the "not been backed" argument. maybe not in this window, but 80 million on lukaku and 89 million on pogba shows that they're willing to give him the money. not to mention the amount we threw around under van gaal.

basically, give this squad to a more "modern" manager and they'll do better with it.

Good post

Most Utd fans think we need about 10 players but 2 quality attacking full backs under a more attacking style manager and this team would improve dramatically.(maybe not enough to win the league or the CL but a decent improvement deffo)

Woody and glazers are another issue btw but lest just start from the point above

pretty much. although if shaw does step it up this season, as does lindelof, then it'll just be a right back that we need.

valencia has been the best right back in the league for years playing out of position, but otherwise.... yeah. in any case, we don't need to buy a right back with timmeh, tuanzers... even herrera could play there. we just need a manager with some imagination who isn't a complete @#%&!.

Best in the league? Valencia is barely the best right back at the club, he's £#%&!ing useless, positionally shocking and gets in the team because of what he allegedly offers in attack. Which is basically 37 games worth of stopping dead and passing inside to Smalling / Matic and hitting crosses at Mach 1 at the first defender or the exact point none of our players can reach, with one games worth of assists and a peach of a volleyed goal once every three years.

Valencia is emblematic of the club's decline, he's been unceasingly ordinary in two positions for us.

We bought one . Looking forward to seeing what he can do. Should be fit enough to make the squad after the International break.

neither of which is his position.

you've basically described matic (our best outfield player), with a jink inside and a curler inside the far post instead of a stirring volley. imagine them together in a midfield three. sumptuous.

I imagined it and it sickened and enraged me. Thanks for nothing.

A midfield three with Valencia and Matic in would never leave our own half, we'd spend entire games passing back and forth just inside our own half like a game breaking FIFA glitch, people would form Fight Club style bare knuckle groups in the stands just to alleviate the boredom, we'd change the club kit to all beige.
