They were just as quiescent as we've apparently been. It's just their owners' strategy was even higher risk than ours. And they happen to be cheaper to buy out. It doesn't reflect on their superiority as supporters in any way whatsoever and don't let the @#%&!s tell you it does, though they no doubt will.
Sorry but their supporters forced the Americans out and we didn't, it's all there in black and white I'm afraid.

Yes but you should remind them that they were the same scousers who welcomed them with open arms 3 years ago and look what happened.

Also remind them that they've replaced one set of greedy yanks with another set of greedy yanks and what happened to all the optimism could just as easily happen again this time round - don't they ever learn?

Their supporters haven't forced anyone out. The owners' business failure has (apparently) forced them out.

Nah, with a concerted campaign as committed and effective as theirs we could've had a similar result. Not like the Glazers businesses are doing well is it. We should be ashamed.

There's also the trifling matters of someone with funds to buy at the price quoted, and owners under real commercial pressure to sell. Neither of which apply in our case as things stand.

If they did you might have a point.

Because the protest was so ineffective, unlike the Liverpool one.

Pressure has been brought on RBS to not extend the credit. That means they have to pay up their debts and they can't so the owners are being forced out. Their protests are significantly better than ours are. Yes they welcomed them with open arms but when they realised they were parasites, they put immense pressure on them to leave.

I don't disagree, it's been hugely disappointing. But it's not like their fan protests were THE crucial factor.

You can tell yourself that but look at the results.

Yes they were. We can pat ourselves on the back and tell ourselves we have the best fans in the world but the fact is, there has been no pressure brought on people who have bought bonds or helped them re-finance the debt. We've just accepted it. The Liverpool fans moaned and complained to everyone at every opportunity.

they're moaning because things are shite on the pitch and because rafa blamed the owners.

most of our support would only start to give a £#%&! if we dropped out the champions league. sad but true.

not strictly true, i walked through one of their protests before our game last year, when they had just finished 2nd and were still in the champions league

Exactly, question their motives if it makes you feel better, you can't question their effectiveness.
