Not sold at all. The board have accepted an offer in principle but it's so low that Gillette and Hicks have tried to sack them. Now their sackings are in the hands of the lawyers and they might take their time over things, also the RBS foreclose on the 24th. Fingers crossed that RBS asset strip the bastards and sell their stadium to Tesco.

It does strike me as odd that hard entrenched positions yesterday evening could have fallen away by 7am this morning.

The fact remains they're being sold from one US investor to another who are not confirmed as being 'cash rich' and therefore I can only assume that these new investors will want a return on investment?

Not bad news if you ask me. Since Hicks and Gilette announced they were selling I've feared that some rich arab/asian/russian would come in and do a chelsea/city.

Whilst the new american might bring more stabilty, he's clearly not going to chuck money at them until they win everything.

The statement says "the board agrees" and has a minor caveat at the end

"The sale is conditional on Premier League approval, resolution of the dispute concerning Board membership and other matters. "

From the limited information, it doesn't sound like it's over at all.
