Yeah, well thing about Veron is that inconsistency was a common occurrence during his career, even at Samp and Parma. The title-winning season at Lazio may have been his only truly consistent year in his European career.

That said, there's no doubt other factors can come into it. When you'd see him playing on the right, not just at United. Absolute waste.

Falls into that category of player who lived off a good 12-18 months or so, but ultimately just wasn't good enough. See also; Park, Nani, Anderson, O'Shea, Giggs etc.
Fletcher was class you #@&%!

Veron: bought him with our eyes closed. Brilliant, probably luxury player. We never had a role for him.

Nani; loved the bastard. Brainless. Opp of Fletcher, who did a vital if under appreciated job (I could’ve done tbf) Nanners was £#%&!ing brilliant and pulled us out of the shit loads. Frustrating ? Yep. Got rid too early, looking at the shit (Depay etc) who replaced him. Just needed telling what to do. Don’t they all?

From all accounts Fergie managed him brilliantly when he was at his frustrating worst never had a go at him as he didn't want to break his confidence.

Berbatov £#%&!ing hated him from what I remember. Used to spend half the game having a go at him.

LVG getting rid off Hernandez.

Loved Nanners, but by the time he left he’d missed the thick end of 2 seasons with hamstring injuries, he had to go to get regular football and get back up to speed, and moments aside he’s never hit the heights since he left.

Yep. Confidence would’ve been brittle. Came over pretty humble but immature.

Never the same after @#%&!ing Jamesie tried to snap his leg in half. Was in the form of his life until then.

Though there was that time when we beat Arsenal 4-0 in the cup and afterwards Freggle had a right go at Nani for taking the piss?

(having said that, one account claims he just said it as a favour to Wenger and afterwards told Nanners that he didn't really mean it)

Called him out in an interview after a Chelsea game too, very rare

Yeah, was physically shot. Same with Rafael really. Both would have been more suited to Ole than any other recent manager, but both left at the right time. Neither of them remotely close to being up to playing for United now. Rafael in and out at Lyon these days.

I thought that was really £#%&!ing strange. Arsenal tried to kick us off the park that day, Wenger cried when Nani did a trick, and Freggle backed him up

He's often been available, but not up to it would be the guess. Eight league starts and on the bench seven times.

Highest amount of league starts ever in a season was 27 in Fergie's last season. Averaging about 20 at Lyon. Just not capable.

Fergie has pretty old school values though, he probably didn’t really like it.
