Depay set for Lyon move?

Manchester United forward Memphis Depay looks increasingly likely to join French club Lyon this month.

Lyon say they have made three bids for the 22-year-old, the most recent of which was 17m euros (£14.7m), which was lodged on Tuesday.

United are yet to agree a fee for the Netherlands international but talks are thought to be ongoing, with Lyon hopeful the difference in valuation can be closed.

Depay signed for United from PSV Eindhoven in a £31m deal in 2015, although that figure is thought to include a number of add-ons, which have not been met.
Again with the £31m ffs He cost about £21m all in.

They'll let him go for £15m + add ons and just as Baron suggests, we'll look foolish in a couple of years. Don't know who's at fault, him or the managers that have had him, but doesn't feel like he was supported or given a fair crack of the whip.

Think you're probably right. Never has 'there's definitely a player in there somewhere' been written more often.

But we never found it and if both van gaal and mou failed with him then it's the right time to cut loose. Would have had half a chance if his bottom lip wasn't dragging along the floor all the time.

Good riddance.

He is a £#%&!er and his attitude stinks, never going to be a KdB in a million years. Over rated #@&%!, the French and Dutch leagues are about his level.

I think he got a decent shot at making it at Utd

Maybe Jose could have given him more game time in the cups but he was under a lot of pressure and you really couldn't trust Depay not to play like a @#%&!

Cost us 2 goals away at Newcastle and Stoke last season due to his lackadaisical defence work nevermind some of his rotten displays going forward against non-midget teams

I think he's had 3 starts this season? And Mourinho used him for 5 minutes here and 10 minutes there chasing games. Never really got a chance when the side wasn't up against it and was invariably dragged off early in his rare starts. Maybe his own fault, but never given chance to settle on the pitch, be involved and play his way into some form in anyway.

Think the Stoke game last year was a massive blow to his chances, barely played after that.

I'd be shocked if we don't include a significant percentage of sell on. Especially if we let the tight bastards have him at a steep discount.

He had his chance.

Doesn't have the will and determination to play at this level.

Don't mean that as an insult, there aren't many who do.

He's a talented guy, will run amok vs lower level sides.

Difference: -£11,111,967

None of the other add ons were paid. This assumes the exchange rate at the time of payment, and that payments were made at the deadline, rather than earlier. Also for the sale, just going off today's exchange rate and the headline fee reported in the press.
