Football 9-0

We were obviously the first team to do it in 1995 (in the PL) and there have been a few other games with the same result. Never been a 10-0. Gotta be coming soon, surely? Is it a mental thing where a team doesn't want to go into double digits? Unlikely. Just find it weird there's been about five instances of this score but no one managed to get that elusive tenth...

One day...

Yeah, there’s a mental thing.

Odd thing today is that the ref gave 5 minutes of injury time. If a team is winning by 3 or more, they usually only give a token minute as the games over.

Obviously a massive conspiracy.

sure SAF said in one of his books he told the team no more goals v Ipswich at 9, and Burley also blanked him at Full time.

i’m sure we had a reasonable amount of time to get the 10th too.

young Stickers was in the scoreboard end for that one

We beat Anderlecht 10-0 in a preliminary round of the European cup in the 50s.

No Cole scored right at end. TBH 10 goals against a professional outfit is something that should never ever happen. Non-league/ Conference sides give better accounts of themselves in Cup games

if the premier league quality is so high now why have there been more 9-0s in the last 3-4 years than i can remember in 40 odd years of watching football?

Other side of the coin, quality getting lower.

This Bournemouth side is truly terrible.

Celtic at it now. Quality of the Scotchland league must be on the up.
