That bid makes no sense. Yet I’m sure the first thing people involved in deals do is tell a journalist the details as soon as the bid is made.

Barca want more up front, so why would United improve the up front offer without reducing the add ons. The add ons make no sense anyway, and going above 80m total makes no sense either.

I doubt de Jong has ever gave or received a pass from a character like Scott The Scottish Player before. He's going to need as much time as possible.
