Mason Mount didn't get picked for 1 game, and Martin Tyler is going to mention it for the rest of time.

But why aren't defenders who must be equally affected making mistakes..

Yep. It was inevitable. Seem to recall a fair few of us saying this season would be a joke back in August/September. The Euros will be even worse.

Will take a couple of seasons to recover from this %@#$&!s for most clubs. City will go from strength to strength though.

Destroying is easier than creating. I’d say attackers tend to expend more energy in trying to break teams down, in the main.

Got to be a lot of mental tiredness out there as well, attackers not thinking as smartly or sharply, reacting quickly enough etc.

I think maybe the game is slower which enables defences to get back in shape more easily.

True, which makes City's march to the title a weird one, they're basically beating up on cripples, the Ern McCracken of English football.

Be interesting to see minutes played by player - we seem to have ended up with quite a small group who all play a lot of minutes.

That too.

Last night it seemed every time one of our players received the ball in any kind of space on the flanks their first touch immediately brought them back towards their own goal, which points to fatigue/lack of confidence attacking the space and a desire to protect the ball first and foremost, allowing Palace to regroup every time.
