Fair enough. Never heard of him. I'll amend my records. Heard of Tony Whelan but not Anto

Don't understand why we never won the league for 26 years considering 99 per cent of piss poor performances came during the Premiers League years

To be fair, the likes of Roche, Steve James and others were consistently below average rather than being outstandingly dogshit.

Very few details really, just sticks in my cousin's mind as even shitter than Taibi and Prunier. Dave Sexton signed him in 1980 for £30k from Bohemians. Sexton was binned off, Big Ron signed Paul McGrath, cue the end of Anto.

His only appearance:

We released Jimmy Rimmer and kept Stepney and Roche.

And then doubled down by refusing to meet Shilton's wage demands after he agreed to join.

No need for the eyes, I'm on your side. Some people need to sort themselves out.

There was Tony Whelan. That's who I was thinking of. Born in Salford. Made the first team squad but never played an official first team game. Look at team photos from 70/71/72. He's the only black player. Now an academy coach.
