It's the 4.5-year deal that makes me laugh. As if when approached Jones simply would not accept 3.5 years at United.

Can't imagine this is anything other than a short term boost to his wages & an agreement that he'll be sold in the summer - sweetner for him now and Utd will get a fee. Surely someone would pay £25m for him in the summer. Leicester, Everton, even Newcastle would cough up for him without too much hassle.

Hopefully it's simply protecting the monetary value of an asset

Lindelof, Smalling, Bailly, Axel are all currently better than this clown and if we sign a top class CB in the summer then he should be 6th choice CB
