Just to add, and this is paraphrasing, their were comments about the lad not defending 'well' so he played him off Lukaku. Added a third CB to strengthen the defence as a result (that defender being the young Scottish lad who has only ever done that job in training, meanwhile Bailly is on the bench).

5-3-2 away to West Ham. No intent from the start, and sat waaaayyyyy too deep. Conceded within 5mins. West Ham supporters now up for it. Well played Jose.

I also got the impression they wanted the West Ham manager to stick the knife in at the end but he was quick to add that he wants his 10 outfield players to attack and defend. Always comes across well (IMO).

What somebody replied to you with plus blaming him for defensive things, exactly like he said about Hazard when he dropped him for the last game before Chelsea sacked him.

Good God.

We'll get royally £#%&!ed by them. Imagine Phil Jones trying to stop hazard using only his ears.

I reckon we'll rally and beat Valencia but another league capitulation is round the corner. That win/lose, despair/hope cycle will carry on til Christmas imo.

In reality, Jose's reign here was over the moment the transfer window closed in August this year. Let down by Woodward for the second summer in a row, and extraordinarily badly this time. Has two players in Martial and Pogba who need to be shipped out of the club, regardless of who the manager is, and the signings he has brought in himself have proved to be no better or worse than those they were supposed to replace.

It's a pity because, in general, things were going ok, and mostly in the right direction up until round about this time last year. The away games against southampton and liverpool are where the rot really began to set in. It's been a slow donward spiral ever since.

The club is in trouble. Woodward is only interested in revenue, the Glazers are only interested in how much of that they can stick in their pockets, Pogba is only interested in Pogba, Mourinho is only interested in how much of a compensation package he is going to get, Martial is only interested in holding out until a new manager arrives and most of the rest of the squad are either no-hopes or has-beens.

Grim.

Utter nonsense.

He signed Lukaku, Matic and Lindelof for near on £150m.

We didn't sign Perisic because Inter wouldn't sell. Boo-£#%&!ing-hoo.

spot on that. In retrospect he should have been sacked after the Sevilla home game.

Take out your irrational hatred for Mourinho and imagine for a second that you, as a fan, had been let down by us only signing Dalot and Fred over the summer.

We wouldn't even let Darmian go because we would've been making a loss. Now look at how City have shipped out Pep's transfer failures.

The one point I would contest is that Martial is treading water until a new manager arrives. I think he's been trying his %@#$&!s off since he signed that new contract. Mourinho is just being spiteful by calling him out at this stage.

Nothing to do with Mourinho. It's more of the point I am sick of people constantly trying to justify the fact that Woodward doesn't back the manager. Granted, this summer was a disaster, but there has been plenty of money spent.

With credit to Mou, he saw something in Perisic which the majority of people didn't. The World Cup showed what a great player he was and he would've been superb for us.

The point about backing the manager is in relation to what the competition is doing. We finished second last season. City spent more than us. Now imagine the club had dug that little bit deeper and we did get Perisic.

Then, in light of that, have a look at what happened this summer, where we are in connection to City and Liverpool who have also now spent more too, our club's constant bragging about being the biggest, richest club in the world, where we are in the league, where we are at in relation to the big clubs in European football, our massive revenues and dividend payments to the Glazers and reconsider if we have spent plenty of money.

FFS. Not this utter %@#$&!s again.

That's the same Perisic who no showed when it got tough at Inter last season, stumbled into 4th due a player who had pre-signed for them scoring an own goal.

Perisic was a complete waste of money, and guess what... they did buy him a late 20's forward (who is a miles better players) and look how it's turned out.

It's always another signing isn't it?
as opposed to you always wanting a new manager?

Fallen out with the captain and vice captain....

"Jose criticised Antonio Valencia for not attending last week's Carabao Cup defeat by Derby County in his role as club captain before dropping him for the trip to West Ham.

Mourinho is understood to barely be on speaking terms with skipper Valencia having stripped Paul Pogba of the vice-captaincy"

Employ the right bloke then.

I wanted Mourinho, he was the right choice at the time and haven’t changed my mind on giving him the job. He’s just not done a very good job at learning from his past mistakes with players and how he gets his teams playing.
