Played a blinder against Rangers. Kenny Miller was a handful on his own against Evans and Smalling but I think Smalling did great man marking fresh air.

Fingers crossed the boy keeps improving and becomes a class act for years to come.
He's not looked out of place in a United shirt yet imo and I thought he was good for Fulham until the understandable dip in form after his signing was announced.

He's no Phil Jagielka, that's for sure.

No, he'll need 19 league goals and a handful of England caps for that. But then he cost less than Super Jags would.

I think he'll have 'em too, by the time he's 29. In fact I think it'll be more than a "handful".

He'd also by the way have to shrink about 4 inches, lose 3 yards of pace, generally deteriorate as an athlete and lose some ability on the ball.

Thought Smalling lacked concentration against Rangers, decent most of the time, but look at the hesitation that let Miller nearly score from a tight angle at the end of the first half.

Awful defending, just ball watching really

Deteriorate as an athlete? You mean like Owen Hargreaves?

I barely remember him playing at Fulham except for scoring an OG against Chelsea. Then again I don't watch Fulham much tbh boring. So the news of the signing left me a bit underwhelmed, but I think he's done pretty well so far.

Even at Villa Park when we threw him on as a forward.

It's a yes from me. So far.
