Wonder if Phelan will be willing to take permanent role as well. Would probably be a big loss if not.

Tbf after Quieroz left our play did become more basic.

it coincided with the total neglect of the centre midfield though. and escalated after the 1-6

we basically had giggs, anderson, carrick, park and gibson the year before and got to the champions league final and won the league. some achievement tbf

after the 1-6 SAF seemed to give up and we went full donut.

Didn't he drop some other role like a hot potato when United came calling in December?

'Sporting Director' at some Aussie side. Basically being paid a decent amount for advising not a lot, probably over Skype. Said he'd do both at once, which tells you all you need to know about how much is needed in that other role ..

Ole has to get the job just so big Mike doesn't have his heart broken about being binned again. Five years away from United took its toll.

Sporting director of Central Coast Mariners or assistant manager/head coach whatever at United.

You have a silly idea of what worrying is.

McKenna had proven himself at united with the youth teams. It would be to United’s detriment to not keep him at the club and effectively punish a talented young coach for being promoted a few months earlier. Carrick was a Giggs like appointment. An ex player who’d become too old and was given a coaching job, unproven and part of a managerial team eventually deemed not to have been good enough. He likely kept his job because he was an ex player who didn’t come as part of mourinho’s team.

It was a reasonable enquiry and £#%&! all to do with sage.

Probably because phelan wasn’t much of a coach but more assistant manager, taking care of the day to day details of management whilst fergie watched racing in his office. Muelentsein was more the coach.

Not sure what his arrangements were tbf. And you never know, his family might wanna be in Australia instead of £#%&!ing Manchester. Who wouldn't...

I’m pretty sure everyone employed by Manchester United would rather be here than employed in Australia.

I think he already has it. They just don't want to announce it and knowing our owners, don't want to pay his club the fee until as late as possible to save 35p.

He is talking more in press conferences like he's a full time boss.

No more references to getting them to end the season well. Seems to be talking more long term.
