Apparently he’s been picked to protect Walker and give an option to switch to 343 to match the Danes if needed

Seems typical Southgate to select attackers for their defensive work rate
It’s worked for him so far but I have a feeling it’s going to come unstuck tonight and he’ll need to turn to his more skilful technical players on the bench to bail him out

Southgate is very conservative but tbf it got him this far. Apart from Shaw most of our players won't be needing much of a rest after the euros.
