Played some shocking passes today but didn't do an awful lot wrong. Like you say, nowhere near our biggest concern.

Pogba back in for Lingard (for now), don't let Fred and McTommers get as adventurous and we'll be fine. Lindelof was a bigger issue than Maguire today.

If he was at City, playing in the high line that Pep uses, he would likely be considered the flop of the season.

Balls.

He’d have better players in front of him and the large majority of possession every game. He’d have been caught out for pace once or twice but that’s why they have the likes of Walker so to cover the CB’s.

Laporte is slow too btw.

Pep teams get done since Barca in the same way, countered and their high line and lack of pace in central areas exposed. Generally in the league, with Bayern and City up to the emergence of Liverpool they have been able to overwhelm teams with their attacking firepower but in Europe their weaknesses have been consistently exploited. Pep loves ball playing CB's but has seemingly been unwilling to adapt his set up to protect them against live opponents.

Maguire at City would be playing high up, with full backs pushed on and space to defend in, that is not a situation he is suited to, something which will be an issue with Utd moving forward. Competent box defender, limited(defensively) outside of that comfort zone.

Called it straight away, will lose his England place very shortly, probably to Smalling

Tuanzebe is at least quick. Would be a palliative for Maguire's glacial sluggishness

Guardiola’s been playing a similiar-ish system for a long time. With all the centre backs in Europe, he’s going to be in for one that doesn’t suit that style at all, aside from being able to pass a ball from deep? And that because he can’t be arsed to mitigate the threat his system poses? That doesn’t sound like one of the top three coaches in world football mate.
