Default Fred

I think if we’re going to give him as much stick as he got a month or so ago, we have to balance that out when he plays well, and he has the last few games. He’s still prone to losing possession, but he covers a lot of ground and really puts in a shift. The Scottish Player looks better alongside Fred than he did with any of his other midfield partners this season.

He definitely appears to be benefitting from a run in the team; the quality of his play has gone up a few notches in the last few weeks. Still not totally convinced he’s a long term solution but that’s miles better than pre Liverpool when I was convinced he wasn’t the answer to anything.

Well done, more needed.

Matic is a lost cause, but I'm glad Fred found himself. The Scottish Player-Fred-Pogba (Pereira)-James-Rashford-Martial: I'm beginning to see the shape of a competitive team there.

At the very least, maybe we only need two or three top quality additions now rather than eight.

Excellent today, MotM without a doubt. This is becoming a string of improving performances now and I’m pleased for him. Honest hard working player who struggled and got it wrong for a while but is now showing glimpses of what he’s capable of.

If Ole drops him and slots Pogba back into a 2 with McT when he’s fit it’s going to really piss me off. That’s when the doubts would start to become properly legitimate.

Anyway, well done.

He did well to look after the young lad. Played pretty well overall.

What does that mean? Are Brighton not a premier league team anymore? I haven’t really been paying attention to them tbf.

Absolutely right. Probably the most impressive aspect of his shift today. I don’t know whether he’s good enough long term, but he’s a proper team player unlike some others we’ve had recently.

Thumbs up

Really good today. Puts a shift in and is tenacious, played 2 or 3 telling through balls too. Getting better the more he plays

Like it or not the next step is to turn these games back into a shoe-in rather than a toss-up. Only play what’s in front of you etc etc.

I thought he played very well today. Has his confidence grows he is adding a little bit of flair to his game as well.

He’s beginning to become an important player for us.
