what a goal that would have beenby carlito

and as good as anybody else on the pitch is, messi has to be the best player in the world at the moment for me, and by a distance

he's special that messi. he looks a decent lad too, he'd be just as good in the prem. if only carlito could have a word........

very busy, keeps taking to many touches , he seems a bit hesitant to have the ball infront of him. he likes to have it tight to his toes. playing well though but not hitting the target.

done very well, running round like a crazy £#%&!er. just left about 4 chileans on their arses but shot over from the edge of the box.

riquelme has been quiet the 2nd half

messi, I just love watching, he just glides past people like they aren't there, he's a tough little £#%&!er, and he runs his socks off. what a talent

messi is not by a distance, not with ronaldo and kaka around. 3 potential all time greats imo, messi has already had a few injuries though, may hold him back.

cant agree im afraid. ronaldo, imo, with his ability and incredible attitude could easily go down in the pele, maradona bracket. would you swap messi for ronaldo?

I wouldn't swap ronny for anybody, but messi is easily the still the best player in the world

commentators don't even bring ronny into the equation, messi is ahead of kaka in their opinion, even though kaka will win the player of the year

messi will win it next year if he stays clear of serious injury

Kaka did a lot more over the last year to deserve this years Palm Dor than Messi regardless of form over the last month. I don't see Seria A on Bravo anymore, maybe it's gone from television but if it is, how do we know Kaka isn't playing as well?
