who is the best player you've seen live (aesthetically)

id say keep it united because if I say the player I was in utter amazement at it won't go down well here.
(plus alot of you are united fans and not football in general so won't be able to process the fact players outside of united are actually good at football)


before the usual get at my neck and start trying to pull apart my own opinion ill give you an example.

I've seen Messi live a few times and never been in awe of the way he plays.
on the eye I'm been more impressed with Carrick.

for me its RvP. gliding around the pitch with some much elegance and a wand of a left foot.

Giggs. He just stood out as different to every other player. Glided about.

United - Veron, loved how he moved with the ball and passed it

Non United - Thierry Henry, smooth as silk when running at full pelt with the ball

There’s something about Messi I just never took to, at any stage of his career. Though almost oddly for me I enjoyed seeing him hold the World Cup propped up by his team mates.

I thought Carrick was a very good player but can’t say I share that view. I always felt Rio made the game look so easy - especially between 06-08.

Outside of United, Ronaldinho at Barca in a 3-3 draw with Villareal (Forlan hat trick). Just an absolute showstopper.

United…..Best, closely followed by Scholes. Ronaldo third

Non united….messi ….also seen maradonna but he had a poor game

(Non-United) Ronaldo (Brazilian). 4-3 v Real Madrid.

He looked overweight but still scored a hat-trick. Worthy mention is Modric.

There’s too many to choose from with United but Rooney comes to mind..with the strike against Newcastle, the goal against city. His work-rate and tenacity probably takes away the thought of him being aesthetically good to watch on the pitch.

Non united : Draw between Del Piero and Iniesta (Messi is right up there though)

United: Scholes and Berbatov we're the first to mind

Non United - Pirlo. His performance in '05 was brilliant.

Not sure if the best of Utd, but Beckham always looked well balanced and had a lovely looking movement/passing.

Giggs and Scholes. Giggs in particular was probably my favourite player as a kid.

Opposition - probably Henry

Most aesthetically pleasing player I never saw in person - Ronaldinho. Used to love watching him, easily the most entertaining footballer. Some of the stuff he did was magic. I watch YouTube compilations of him regularly to this day.
