No he wasn’t. He was a success driven manager who would gladly £#%&! over his own family if it meant he got what he wanted.

Fergie was fiercely loyal to those he thought deserved it. Not sure the screw his family over line is even remotely applicable.

And he was clearly a master at man management. For the vast majority of his players that meant giving them the hairdryer treatment privately whilst publicly backing them. For others (Ronaldo, Eric etc...) it involved giving them a freedom few players enjoy.

I loved the Class of '92 doc where the likes of Butt and Pip are talking about how he'd tell them he was saving them for a special game and that's why they couldn't play for the next 3 weeks. Then Pip would have the game of his £#%&!ing life when it mattered.

The man was a genius. Sure he had his flaws (greed, handling of the Glazers, had to be 'the man' etc...), but we'll never see his like again.

Painful one that, made worse by just about every new signing coming out with it, insecure behaviour.

Myth: midfield of Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Beckham shouldn't have been broken up.

Fact: we were made to look pedestrian by Bayern in '01 and teams in Europe had started to figure us out.

Zaha and Moyes' daughter (and why he barely got a kick) is still a favourite of mine.

I am convinced it's not a myth, however.

We always sell out. Myth.

There’ve been a handful of games at OT post-Fergie where tickets haven’t been available to anyone who could be arsed, including derbies. Every game there’s plenty of empty seats. Saturation point reached years ago.
