Brexit has added to the UK’s mounting food supply crisis which has seen a “crippling” shortage of some goods in the supermarket, the nation’s farming union has said.

The National Farmers Union (NFU) said current egg shortages “could just be the start” and warned that consumers could soon see a scarcity of tomatoes, cucumbers, pears and other fresh produce.
Quote:
The NFU said there were now 7,000 fewer registered agricultural companies in the UK than in 2019, with many pushed out of business by soaring costs and workforce shortages.

the egg crisis, which has nothing to do with brexit, will just be the start? sounds about right.

if this were true, one might have expected the remain campaign to have gained a little more traction.

Talking of which, I had noticed that Farage, rather than bask in all the glorious and very obvious upside of Brexit, has somewhat distanced himself by going on an anti migration campaign - Enoch’ing himself around spewing shit about the perils and dangers of losing our bloody good ‘Ol Yorkshire pudds and roast beef.

It did make me wonder if he’s not only the biggest c*** alive but quite possibly, the biggest of all time.

Oh dear.

Not good for various senior figures in the EU taking bribes from Qatar.

What a joke. Very depressing and hugely damaging for the EU’s integrity and credibility.

I know, it's a f***ing disgrace -- I'm a socialist who works at the European Parliament, where the f***'s my suitcase full of cash??

Not sure where Zorg has got to but I’m alarmed with so few anti brexit posts. I know many many others are too. So don’t worry, I’ll do what I can to fill some of the void myself…

This is Richard Branson’s latest view. I also fear that without Ric, we won’t have someone pointing out something unsavoury about Branston (not the pickle) rather than the subject itself.

The clusterf*** that is brexit has become normalised now, so it just passes everyone by.

Stupid MEP’s, you don’t take someone else’s money, that’s corrupt. You take your own country’s money, given to you by your mates in government. Sure, you’ll have to give them a kickback but hey, you’re a lady of the realm.

not really sure this kind of cash for influence should be in the brexit thread. I mean... I know you only want to push it so you can mention corruption here (which also has nothing to do with brexit), but....

also, surely worth her own thread? I mean.. its own thread.

You make a good point. When the headline said she been stripped I did sense my eyebrow being raised ala Roger Moore.

Also, the reason for putting it here is that the advocates for Brexit in the uk have been exposed as being the most corrupt bunch of nepotistic ****ers imaginable and whilst I realise this is very much a foreign concept to you (and arguably others who I tend to agree with more), it’s important to show balance. You either have standards and ethics or you don’t.

Depends on your interpretation of the Russia Report...

Brexit means no British manufacturer able to build UK government’s ministerial cars according to the Indy.

Used to be jags but will now be Audi’s made in Germany. This comes as car production in the uk hits an all time low with brexit supply side issues being cited as a major factor.

It’s going so well lads…
