What I won't entertain is this "he's the best ever" narrative that inevitably gets wheeled out the minute he wins something.

Never again will a manager have an entire club groomed for his arrival the way he has at city. They were planning for it for years before he even got to bayern, everything was just how he wanted it, all the old barca heads behind the scenes and backed up by limitless cash and a squad that had already been champions twice in the previous 4 years.

It's easier to build a team with your own particular way of playing when you can just buy players and then immediately replace them if they aren't exactly how you want them. No other club in this country has that luxury and no manager in the history of football has had a squad of such depth that you can replace a 250m quid defence with a 300 million quid defence off the bench.

When Wenger came in, he was the revolutionary genius that was the best we'd ever seen...then in came Jose in 2005 who was racking up record points totals, he was a genius, the best we'd ever seen...then fast forward to Guardiola... he's now the best ever etc etc. I
Postage - hes a very good coach, but lets not kid ourselves no one else could do what he has done with the advantages he's had, not just at City.

No, according to Sinclair they haven't bought any duds apparently.

Also, it's ok for city to make loads of changes because their other players are good enough. Doesn't even make sense what he says.

Why the £#%&! do ex-players like Trevor Sinclair keep getting air time on Sky, BBC, etc. £#%&!ing wasters who achieved nothing as players and now they are mouthing off as if they are an authority on the game.

It's sickening. You could make a list of Trevor Sinclairs as long as your arm, Robbie Savage, Chris Sutton, Jermaine Jenas, Lee Hendrie, Clinton Morrisson, Jamie Redknapp, £#%&!ing hell, sounds like a 2001 reunion night for £#%&!ing Shrewsbury FC

That’s the key: it’s not so much how much they spend, but the way they spend it. If we buy a dud - and we sure as shit have - we’re stuck with the £#%&!er or we take a huge loss. This then affects the next transfer budget. Pep is able to make as many mistakes as he likes and it doesn’t affect the next.

Stones, Laporte, Ake.... Dias! There we go. That’s the one we wanted. Three attempts to get there though.

Gets rid of Joe Hart. Brand new keeper. No good? Ok, here’s another one - the most expensive in the country.

None of this guarantees success, but £#%&! me, does it not make it a hell of a lot easier.

He is a great manager, of course. You don’t win what he’s won without it and he has a clear style that is obvious in all the teams he’s managed. There’s a great attention to detail and he’s a coach people love playing for. I’d really like to see the guy come into an actually difficult job though.

He had three astonishing players in Messi, Xavi and Iniesta at Barca.

He took the Bayern job, which I reckon I could pick up the odd trophy there.

Then a job that was tailor-made for him like some big grand designs house on a limitless budget.

If he did it all with Everton, then fair enough.

Great manager, but take a challenge on before calling him the best ever.

Just because of what Sinclair has said Talksport are running with a narrative of 'there are growing calls for United to be punished'.

If they dock us 6 points, they have to dock City 12 for the game v Chelsea and the Covid postponement then.

It won't happen. Sinclair is just clueless.

Like you say, city should be punished for their line up against Chelsea if so.

Thick, and ludicrously partisan.
