Martial is £#%&!ing garbage. That's my only critism of ETH tbh, actually keeping him and making him out to be his first choice striker. Or it could actually be very clever man management. Knew he has no chance of getting a top class forward, knew there would be issues with Ronaldo so had to keep him sweet for a season. Obviously the latter...

Now it seems he has seen sense and he will be £#%&!ed off back to the bench next season or £#%&!ed off elsewhere.

Always get the impression Hag likes Tony. Speaks highly of him when he doesn’t necessarily need to…but could all be good man-management and all that. I thought he was decent first half against City , nothing more. And you expect more. Especially when the team is flying. It’s clear we’ll be upgrading in the summer.

ETH doesn’t want martial to be his starting CF. He’s only playing him because there is nobody else. If he put in the hard yards and held the ball up bringing other people into play , it wouldn’t be so bad but he can’t even do that.

The best way to sum him up , in his best position as LW we already have two players above him in the pecking order.

300k a week for a bench player?! He needs binning. Start to control the wage structure and if we manage to sign a top CF in the summer and if big wegs-y plays well , we could sign him as cover.

Martial can then piss off to Marseille or AC milan.

This. He’s a talented guy and I enjoy watching him when he’s on form, but it’s been what, 7 years, and he’s still the same player. Promises much, delivers little. He’s not a first choice number 9 for any team with ambitions of challenging at the very top. We’ve known this a while and nothing that’s happened this season has changed that. We’re making do with him and Big Weggerz til the takeover. And if results can keep going the way they are, then it’s far less of an issue.

Martial was an absolute dereliction of duty against city. Shufflijng around in midfield doing no work. He had Bruno and Rashford running past him doing his pressing for him, even shouting at him about it. So bad he got hooked at half time.
The manager is never going to publicly say he's a shot horse. He doesn't work that way, he wants to keep his value up so Newcastle or some other sucker will buy him.
