Yet here we are and everyone is slagging Ole for getting the best out of a weak squad, getting us into a stronger position than any thought possible, only for the strains of the schedule to take their toll, not one iota of understanding or acceptance that we’ve punched above our weight all season, just ‘the manager isn’t good enough’
I see your point and ignoring the usual idiots dancing because they can get stuck into Ole, but that wasn't good enough tonight.

I still wouldn't have us second now. have to check the table every day just to makes sure.

there is no excuse for the way we play, though. stupid and gutless.

It wasn’t, but we were always going to get games like that this season, imo. Doesn’t make it less disappointing though.

Agree Sparky, it’s shit. All trophies associated with no fans football are meh. It’s just a bizarre experience all round.

Playing out of the back is a joke too. It’s so demoralising.
Not just formation but also style of play. Pass it along the back (but every player must take minimum two touches), feed it to the wide positions (where we don't actually have any naturally wide players), push back inside and hope Bruno can do some magic (unless he's not there, in which case let Fred have a shot over the bar). It's become ponderous and predictable. Tired players could explain it, but isn't every team tired?

The times we've looked good this season (beyond Bruno) is when we've tried to move the ball quicker, switched the ball at pace and whipped in more first-time balls. In short, taken a few more risks.

Any chance of a Covid outbreak at Carrington?

Reckon a 7-day break would do us wonders at this point in time.

Looks like they've had the last few weeks off to me.

it wasn't that odd. cavani was doing £#%&! all and at least greenwood gets shots off - putting greenwood in the middle makes sense. maybe shifting the balance of the team by taking off a defender might have made some sense, but cavani wasn't likely to look more alert as the game wore on.

to be fair to ole's complete lack of imagination, this is very much how united have played for years against teams that sit back. including fergie's half-decent squads.

what they should do is get everyone on zoom and pump the audio through the stadium speakers.

"run, you lazy @#%&!!"

And that is the point really - it *isn't* just us.

The sole exception appears to be the club that basically has two full squads of first team players to call upon - funny that.
