Slow starts are the one. Hopefully the lack of puddings will sort that out.

I'm hoping that something else is C.Ronaldo.

Unless you think Ole is better or on a par with Tuchel, Klopp and Guardiola, and just has never demonstrated it ever?
Finished above Klopp last season and has Guardiola's number in the derby games. That's something recent and relevant to the discussion. There is no point comparing him on CV because of course he doesn't compare in past accomplishments.

He didn't compare with Mourinho in December 2018 either but that's not why we sacked Mourinho and brought Ole back to the club. We sacked Mourinho because he was not the right fit for this club. In his approach with tactics, transfers and mentality it was a bad fit that was spiralling downwards fast. Ole has shown he is the right fit. He knows the expectations and what the make up of a United team should be like having been a part of one for a decade. He's demonstrated that with his tactics and transfers. He has made mistakes that perhaps those other managers wouldn't in certain games that decided silverware. But the work he has done has put us in a position where we have been close and this summer has been a big success in helping him take the final step.

The fact of the matter is Klopp at this point in his reign at Liverpool had not won a trophy and struggled to get over the line on the biggest occasions. It took him time and since there is no disagreement that as a manager he is above Ole in CV and reputation. That he had tasted success before as a manager, had more 'know-how' and experience of big occasions then if you want to compare then Ole is doing an excellent job.

I think Klopp and Pep are better than Tuchel, but that doesn’t mean Chelsea can’t win the league.

Was Howard Wilkinson a better manager than Fergie because of 1992? Was Ranieri the best manager in the country when Leicester started their title
Winning season? Was he then the best by the end?

It doesn’t matter.

What mattered was he was capable of building a team that won the league that season.

Ole doesn’t need to be better than Klopp, Pep or Tuchel. He needs Manchester United to be better Liverpool, City and Chelsea.

And if he does, it doesn’t mean he’s ‘better’ than them either.

It’s a pointless, reductive argument.

Its an oversimplification of a more complex reality, and you know as much.

Definitely got a first eleven that's as good if not better than any other in the league and the squad is the strongest I think we may have ever had. Guess it's all about consistency, luck and refereeing standards.

Luck is generally underrated in football.

It's nowhere near the strongest squad we've ever had. Not even close.

The central midfield is utter dogshit.

Our squad in 2008/09 was something to behold

Easy to forget that Carrick, Fletcher and an ageing Scholes were our midfield options that year with back up from Anderson and Hargreaves M.I.A. Think Park and Giggs played CM a fair bit probably a Carrick short of where we are currently tbf.

Best defence we've ever had.

Scholes/Carrick/Giggs/Park/Nani midfield

Ronaldo/Tevez/Rooney/berbatov
