Latest Scouse boycott?

HUNDREDS of people have complained to the BBC over comments made on Match Of The Day last night, by host Gary Lineker.

Lineker caused controversy when Liverpool's hat-trick hero Fernando Torres was shown walking off with the match ball, to which Lineker commented 'I hope he puts it somewhere safe'.

His comments follow a number of armed robberies carried out on the homes of Premier League footballers, mostly in the Merseyside area.

The BBC has not yet spoken out on the issue, but Lineker's comments were removed from Sunday's repeat episode

The BBC confirmed that it had received 'in excess of 100' complaints within 24 hours of the show airing.

Anyone got a list? Finding it hard to keep up with all these boycotts.

That's just reminded my of Lineker's "4 Keane hell for Burnley" comment - which probably caused less complaints

they love nothing more than being outraged.

That's the second funny thing he has said this season.

the amount of daily digs Unites cop from all media outlets and these @#%&!s whince and whine about a comment which is generally made when someone has something of value.

What a bunch of utter #@&%!s. If there'd been a spate of burglaries in Manchester we'd be the ones makng the jokes, we wouldn't be complaining about them. They're so £#%&!ing precious.

i like it best when they are outraged about something that is true

there have been a spate of targeted robberies. they can't refute that. why there should be some kind of press sensitivity about it i can't fathom...
