Looks like Ruud before his Heerenveen move.

So looks like we’re putting faith in the kids to be a big part of the squad this season

Big gamble but would love to see them rise to the occasion.

Just hope they’re given proper game time now, Gomes especially because I really do believe he could be part of the solution to our lack of creativity.

Sounds mental, but I'd put Garner ahead of Fred and Matic at this point. I'd rather be shit with a kid finding his way in the first team than giving those two shit-houses more minutes than they deserve*

I do like him and he looks a player

But I watched some highlights of the other night and he was absolutely poleaxed by his oppo a couple of times. Just think because of the position he plays he might need a little bit more time in the reserves?

Axel in the holding midfield role could be an option? Big athletic guy and can pick a pass too.

Just a shame Garner, Chong, Gomes, Greenwood, Laird and that Largie kid aren't 12-18 months older. Can honestly see this season being too early for them.

They need careful management and progression.

They did well tonight.

Looking forward to seeing them get more chances as the season goes on

Chong's no good. Gomes has half a chance. Greenwood will win the balon d'or.

Axel and Gomes played well and were probably our best players
Greenwood got a really good goal but actually looked a little nervous and didn’t play that well
Chong is a million miles from being ready but we knew that

Experienced players were the main problem tonight
That and not having any structure to our play

I’d like to see them play with the likes of Pogba, Martial, Mctommers and Mags in the next home group game.
