Just had a glance at his twitter - what a disgusting place that is

Some of the responses

“Why don’t you pay for it yourself”
“Focus on your job - playing football”
“Higher tax for footballers”
“Scroungers”
Etc

Thankfully enough decent people to drown out the scum

negativity is the first response for a lot of people when they see someone doing something good because deep down they feel guilty that they aren't like that.

or they could just be @#%&!s.

One of the best PR opportunities this government could have asked for, and they've put in row Z.

Rashford will sort this out. Go on the lad
This - let’s bail out Ryanair and ignore this issue. Crazy decision and hardly a big deal.

Twitter’s a cess pit. Struggle to understand why anyone goes on it.

Incredible work

I don’t think any campaign by a sportsperson has resonated so much.

It’s great that it’s being done. Made me think quite a bit though.

Good to see the tactic of politicising footballers at the start of the Corona season starting to pay dividends.

Good move, but it’s short term

This is costing the tories £120m that they could have given to the rich in tax cuts, so it will need to be recouped in the long run

My guess is either cuts to youth services or elderly care

Different class from the lad, all done with eloquence, humility & a positive approach, not a hint of sniping or shit-stirring in a thing he's said. Boom, millions of kids helped & Tories made to look like the @#%&!s they are.
