Certainly not. At least no worse than 2002 and even last time, and undoubtedly better than 1990

2002 was ok. Last time wasn't bad either. I've tried really hard to get into this one but just can't muster up much excitement.

The overall standard of football has been pretty poor imho.

loads of good games, some real crackers, some top underdog performances, a really open competition, and best of all only one of the pundit's semi-final picks made it, thus making them all look stupid.

Not overly excited by the SF's, although obviously I'll watch them.

Hope Diego gets to the Final, or maybe we should all be getting behind our new summer target Wesley Sneijder. I see no reason for him not to sign

Really? I thought pretty much every one of the £#%&!ers said Spain would win it.

How many "real crackers" has there been? Ghana v Uruguay was interesting as was Brazil v Holland. But the quality of football has been poor and 90% of the games have been so forgettable that I couldn't tell you most of the scorelines if I tried.

You know a tournament is pretty shit when Germany are the most exciting team ffs.

Hopefully it'll be a Holland v Germany final as they hate each other. Might be a few red cards and a bit of controversy.

To be fair, this Germany team is the best to watch since the 1974 one - at least

tbh i thought Italia 90 was the %@#$&!s but I've already posted this 4 times in the last month.

I was only 6 for Italia '90 but it seemed great at the time. It had a stupid mascot, a fantastic soundtrack, great stadiums, great supporters, England losing on penalties, Esso coins etc...

Pretty much everything this World Cup has lacked imho.

I just think this year has been lacking excitement & lacking great goals.
All the 'star turns' have failed to turn up, most games have flattered to deceive.

1990 had a great showing by England to keep the excitement up - that SF with Germany was a great game. Italy had a good young side that year + the star of the tournament in Schillaci.
Of course during Italia 90 I was at school & happy.
