I suspect he won't do very well - he usually takes teams of low stature / underdogs onto greater things... He's not done well at the 'top clubs'...

My only concern is that the vermin may be not as big as Fulham these days so he may do well with them but, let's be honest, he's not inheriting the best team is he?

I just dont think he'll ever reach the heights of @#%&!ishness like Benitez did.

Saying that, I dont think he'll be there long.Cant see Torres, Mascherano and chums being overwhelmed by this appointment.

I like Roy Hodgson. He seems a decent and honest guy which is pretty rare in football.

That said, Liverpool want their heads examining if they're really about to appoint him. His managerial history:

1976–1980 Halmstad
1982 Bristol City
1983–1985 Örebro
1985–1990 Malmö FF
1990–1992 Neuchâtel Xamax
1992–1995 Switzerland
1995–1997 Inter Milan
1997–1998 Blackburn Rovers
1999 Inter Milan
1999–2000 Grasshopper
2000–2001 Copenhagen
2001 Udinese
2002–2004 United Arab Emirates
2004–2005 Viking
2006–2007 Finland
2007–2010 Fulham

So apart from his decent year at Inter and another decent year at Fulham, he's hardly set the world alight has he? Can you imagine if the Glazers announced him as Fergie's successor? We'd be £#%&!ing livid.

Not even an English gaffers cv. I almost feel justified.

His success with Halmstad in 1976 is considered as one of the biggest surprises of all time in Swedish football.[4] The year before, Halmstad had struggled against relegation and before the 1976 campaign began, they were almost universally tipped for relegation. Hodgson himself says "my greatest achievement would have to be the water-into-wine job at Halmstads."[4] Early in his career, he was dubbed the nicest man in the world.[5]

I'm more worried that he has gone there in the understanding that he will have a big transfer budget available.

Due to maybe an impending takeover.

Nah, if that was the case they'd appoint some big foreign name.

Hodgson is there to achieve CL football on a small budget and get the best out of shit players.

I've by no means always liked Hodgson, his time at Blackburn for instance, but it's been nice to see him go about his work at Fulham. £#%&! him now though, the £#%&!ing scouse goblin.
