tbh i wouldn't be surprised to see england win this. if they settle early, keep possession and put in a herculean effort befitting eleven lions then it's not out of the realms of possibility to see them causing an upset; this is the kind of encounter where they'd be motivated to raise their game. however, if they bottle out and let germany in too early they'll be shown up as technically inferior and just get dismantled lock stock and barrel.

i expect £#%&!ing stratospheric levels of giddiness throughout the country if they do win. if you believe the sun, england already won it by beating slovenia.

It's the main thing that puts me off International Football - the hype, the cliché, the bullshit...but I refuse to be put off by it & I hope England win today...Wazza doing well would make it all the better obviously.
