Thumbs up Ashley Young

Gets a fair bit of stick but thought he was absolutely superb today. Again. Never seems to let us down and can't remember the last time he had a bad game. Incredible turnaround for him over the last 12-18 months considering he was one of the many we wanted out.

Long may it continue - although still think he'll be replaced in the side next year by Danny Rose.

Was excellent at anfield too. He works his bollox off and has chipped in with some important assists but not up to it consistently enough.

Has done as well as possibly could be expected. We would do better with a proper left footed fullback there though.

2nd best winger converted to fullback at United currently.

He's playing at 99% of his potential so give him credit for that.

Definitely, Ashley Young couldn't pick his wages up today as there was no room in his pocket with Salah in there.

Thought he was our best player today.

Pre-match, him v Salah was the big concern. He completely stepped up.

He worked £#%&!ing hard today and was truly excellent. Salah will be hoping we sell him in the summer, he won’t want to ever play against him again.

He better hope we don't sell him to Barca then.

Been a bit off it the past few weeks after a good season so far. Injury knocked him out of his stride. Thought he started a bit dodgy too, until he got to grips, then really looked like the player of a few months back. Playing better now than as a winger under Ferie.

Don't get the hate for him now.

Yeah, in the past but he's done bloody well recently.

And stupid foul throw apart, he was £#%&!ing top today.

He's been much better since that bird shit landed in his mouth a few years ago.

Must be his spinach.

Good in a game like this where he has to hold his position and defend. Very difficult player to have marking you. Made Salah look very ordinary.

In a game where you want a bit more attacking dynamism from your full back, not so great.

This,

Far more dependable than Shaw too.

Still need an upgrade on both though

Great squad player to have... should be back up to a top class left back.. would not be looking to get rid, if he is happy to play a bit part then should be kept on, more worried about Shaw than Young..

We still need a "proper" LB in the summer but I'd rather young be the backup than fat arse

there's definitely an agenda against him

Dont get it. Overall he's been solid at left-back for us. Great attitude/mentality, doesnt sulk. Mourinho trusts him. Great squad player to have

No way we can have Shaw as back up. Back up needs to actually.... you know.... Back up. He's unreliable.

Jose clearly not prepared to go with Shaw as first choice, so we may aswell sell in the summer and get a new proper left back. In fact, it's a priority.
