The prices have gotten silly. I own a company that makes football kits and for £100 I can sell 5 full kits (inc. socks etc...) and still turn a small profit. I know Adidas spend a lot to be the official provider but the prices have got out of hand. It's no wonder so many buy snides.
What's the website for that?

I noticed my local league of Ireland team are selling kits for 65 euros and you get to be a walking advertisement for a gambling company.

I'm surprised the kit prices aren't regulated

Jesus... People clamouring for everything to be regulated. What about I regulate yours so you don't make a profit?

Too expensive, don't buy them ffs. You don't need the law to step in.

I'm too soft and regulate prices much tighter than any governing body would. I just want to see players enjoying the game. Already sold over 500 kits at cost price this year humble brag

Back to pro football... How else can you stop over commercialisation of what should be community assets?

There was a big issue about 10 years ago, when we ( now everybody ) started releasing new kits every season rather than 2 seasons. I think even expiring dates were proposed to be put on the tag, as at first not all kits ( home away 3rd ) were the same release date. 3rd used to be each summer but away n home was every 2 years.

Now nobody even brings it up or complains. Every club has 3 new kits a season.

I don't give a £#%&! as they dont make dog shirts, so i've no need to buy anything.

JJB got fined years ago as part of cartel pricing of football shirts. United shirts are priced to sell - you won’t get the volumes of Prestwich Heys or even Salford City shirts sold at those prices but ultimately there is an emotional value to the shirt which stops it being just another Adidas top.

Teamviewer obviously have a fair few quid to chuck about - they've also got their name & logo all over the Merc F1 cars.

I remember the story he told about him and Giggs both buying new jeeps and turning up for training.

Quote:
Sharpe remembered: “Me and Giggsy were due to start pre-season training on the Monday.

“On the Sunday, Giggsy turns to me and says ‘lets go car shopping. You give your club car to your mum and dad and I’ll give my club car to my mum’.

“So we go into Manchester on a Sunday afternoon and walk straight into a Suzuki Vitara Jeep garage.

“I buy what I think is an understated grey Jeep. Giggsy, meanwhile, is buying this white thing that looks like something a hairdresser would buy. It was ridiculous.

“So Monday morning comes and I’ve got the roof down on my new car, stereo blasting, in shorts and T-shirt on my way into training.

“I turn into the training ground and the first person I see is Fergie. He’s screaming ‘What are your driving? What are you wearing? Who do you think you are?’

“And I’m thinking, ‘Come on Giggsy, turn that corner in your white hairdresser’s Jeep then we’ll see what happens’.

“Next thing, Giggsy’s in the car park. He’s in his company car, a Ford Escort Popular Plus. Fergie looks at him then looks at me. ‘Look!,’ he screams. ‘He doesn’t do stupid things like you’.

“He’d done me again.”

Brilliant 😂

Wasn’t there one about him and Giggs having a house party and Fergie showed up and sent everyone home, Eddie Murphy in Trading Places style 👍

Yeah, I think that was when Lee was living on the trees estate in Whitefield - just as you come off the M60 at J17, it's the estate on the left as you head north before you get as far as McDonald's.
"How the £#%&! did he know?" someone asked.
One grim reply: "he always knows"
