Yes, this game felt in many wase copy paste from Ole's in game managment vs Villareal. Cowardly poor subs which cost the team in the end.

what does he need to learn?

that you can't play italy with a 2-man midfield?

that sterling will destroy every attack?

that it might be a good idea to bring on fresh legs up front and give them time to do something?

he is an over-cautious £#%&!wit who doesn't love football and will accept mediocrity.

he will learn nothing.

same £#%&!ing mistakes over and over like groundhog day. someone needs to punch ned southgate in the face before even opens his mouth.

Harsh to blame Southgate imo. If he hadn't brought on the subs for the pens, the AKs of this world would have said it was a mistake. It's not a lottery but not far off. (I wasn't arsed who won either way, btw)

they're trying to console themselves on the telly by trying to say this england team are young, there's plenty more chances etc etc....all %@#$&!s. That was the best chance they'll ever have to win anything. And they bottled it. Massively

Would've liked to have seen Rashford and/or Sancho given a bit longer. At least let them run at Italy's ageing defence for a bit.

Don't be silly. that would have required subbing mason 'does nothing' mount or sterling.

That would have required a manager with some %@#$&!s who actually wanted to win it in extra time though.

Wow, Southgate couldn't be more like Ole if he tried. What a disgrace.

£#%&!ing fuming. To leave that lump Kane on for 120 mins is a joke.

Its gutting, but you can't say that with certainty - this England team are going to be a major international force for some time to come.

he should have been hooked for his shitty performance. subbing henderson and walker at a corner was nonsense, though.

if sancho and rashford had replaced sterling and saka after 90 minutes, it would not have gone to penalties. if they'd come on after 65 mins, it would not have gone to extra time. moediocre manager making sub-mou decisions.
