TFM looked really promising until Mourinho came in

tfm is fine. ignore anyone who says he isn't. if wan-b had played exactly the same game yesterday, no one would have batted an eyelid.

well, aside from remarking that he delivered a couple of good crosses, obvs.

Match fitness and sharpness makes a huge difference at this level. I’m more concerned it was fatigue from lack of a decent break.

Is that how our front 3 scored 60 goals and we finished third?

Genuinely felt sorry for the lad yesterday. He looked utterly crestfallen.

he must have imagined he was joining a proper football powerhouse when he signed, a well oiled machine.

Imagine how £#%&!ing disappointed he must have been to walk into our absolute £#%&!ing shambles of a pre season, play two games lose both of them with players around him shuffling about like zombies.

Doesn't change anything. Our style of play is still (mostly) slow and one-paced, especially against shit teams that sit back. Even Bruno regressed after a while.

We have a style of play?

He looked hurt at the end.

Took his goal very nicely and buzzed around with limited time and confidence from those around him.

The only even slight positive.

I'd happily see him in for Pogba form here on.

All this talk of how you fit him, Pogba and Fernades, but Pogba is quickly playing his way out of the side. He was awful yet again yesterday and just cannot play that role. And if we're talking about playing him further up the pitch, then we have Fernandes and VDB for that.

What stood out again yesterday was how much we miss Matic when he isnt there. He's far from perfect, but he's the one who brings a bit of composure and intelligence in there.

It should be him, fernades and VDB from here IMO.

Pogba is simply not doing enough to justify a place anywhere on the pitch.

A Matic type signing is still a priority.

Anyone who’s decided fatigue is already an excuse, after match 1, is in for a long old season.

Apparently it's a lack of sharpness. Give it a couple of weeks though until the fatigue arguments really come into play.

It was there, but it is not excuse for that. It doesn't explain seeing the same problems we always see either.

Liverpool looked rusty last week too, but found a way to win. City start late too tomorrow and I'll be amazed if they turn in as abject a displays we did. It's what good teams do. Shit teams make excuses.

Not having it. Not this season. Ole may have decided to roll the dice on CL qualification by using the same starting 11 too frequently to end last season, but if he doesn’t find a way to use the whole squad and keep them fresh this time round then it’s just bad management.
