Default best season since fergie?

by "best" i mean "least shit"

i thought 2016/17 was fun, probably the most consistently enjoyable season since the great man retired. two trophies, that unbeaten run and of course big zlat. there was a real feelgood vibe about the club and the season ended on a high with the europa win. oh, how we all thought great things were to come.

The one where we won two trophies. Not exactly much to choose from.

I’d go along with 16/17

Felt like we were building something

I’ve enjoyed parts of other seasons though like the last couple of months of 15/16 and the cup run and also last season from January on

But over 16/17 and even that had some low points too tbh

Drew lots of league games we should have won, but optimistically you could hope that would be put right in the following campaigns. Instead.......

16-17 purely because it looked like we stop being such a soft touch.

Start of the following season I genuinely thought we’d push city right to the end.

...we came second the following season, drawing just six games.

And losing two of our most important matches that season in pretty squalid fashion, which at least arguably negates the above.

Was going to say Season Three. Of the Wire. But he was still manager for another five seasons AFTER The Wire concluded. Just insane when you think about it...

Didn't we finish about 7th though?

If you grade them it's:

1. 16/17 - Europa League; League Cup
2. 17/18 - 2nd - 81 points; FA Cup final
3. 15/16 - FA Cup
4. 14/15 - 4th - Just nice there's no Moyes
5. 19/20 - 3rd
6. 18/19 - Started badly - good middle - awful end
7. 13/14 - Moyes was here

6th. Finished with the best defence in the league, only lost 5 games which was fewer than man city, liverpool, arsenal and the same as champions chelsea. Unfortunately we drew far too many games.

Still, football and manchester united are about winning trophies and you can't beat finishing the season beating Ajax in a European Capital City.

No good seasons because we haven't won the league and £#%&!ing Liverpool have won the league and champions league. Plus, we have clearly fallen behind the blue @#%&!s as well.
