I would shift Blind to left back as without Shaw he is by far and away our best left back and has a good link up with Young or Memphis
I have no problem with Rojo as centre back. Can't remember him having a bad game there

I would go with Carrick and Schweinsteiger in midfield again as they look our best partnership in there atm
Would play Young from the left and Memphis from the right as Memphis showed to me on Tuesday that he can play out there and Young is much better on the left

Have to keep Martial up top as we badly need his pace and runs in behind
Will be interesting to see how Rooney works with him

anyway, ignoring your inaccurate slight..... darmian(/valencia) and blind/young provide width getting forward - allowable because we effectively have a three-man midfield and carrick can drop between smalling and rojo if necessary. or herrera can drop between schwein and schneid and they provide width and/or additional cover if the fullbacks are getting forward.

also, both martial and depay provide width.

in short, there is width all over the place.

He has played across the backline I believe. Certainly last season he was dividing the right-back position with Bruno Peres, so I assume he played plenty at left-back. Tough to see him being a huge threat going forward from there, mind.

Hm. Him left and Valencia right allowing Blind to stay where he is? Got Memphis to provide the threat wide on the left. Valencia can run up and down past the statue that is Mata, if he's playing

well, blind's more a wide quarterback than a winger. darmian looks good going forward sometimes.

no reason he can't play left back, but I wouldn't let him in the opposition half.
