Default does egg really go with avocado?

everyone* serves them together. there's no excuse for poached eggs to exist at all, but even fried eggs don't really work.

whipped feta. now, that's a thing. perinaise or lime and chili. fine.

but..... egg? they really don't complement each other. choose one or the other.

halloumi and grilled tomato - that's a combination that works. egg and avocado are just two nice, healthy things.

I'm not even on a train.

hmm.. well, I like egg. and I like avo. but I wouldn't put them together. they don't bring out the flavour in each other. like, say, mixing sweet corn into baked beans.

I had a lovely everything wholemeal bagel with avo, chili and fried eggs for lunch. but... they are not crying out for each other.

That sounds amazing

In fact: my missus avo, boiled eggs, lime, feta salads is one of the best bits of life.

So I reckon the answer to your thread is: f***YEAH!!

Took my boss to one of the fancy hang out places here for breakfast and I ordered the halloumi bowl because I love halloumi and poached eggs. This is how it came though and once I’d tossed away the avocado it was pretty amazing.

I even tried to put avocado in smoothies just because I know I should probably eat them but even that tastes rank.

Wrong -Eggs Benedict is a fine repast

The smKed salmon variation with avocado works if you're in the mood

Eggs go with many a thing. Poached egg in yoghurt mixed with feta, garlic, seasoning and a bit of olive oil, and some paprika sprinkled on top. It's an acquired taste, but once you have acquired it, you'll know it's a thing of beauty.

Advocados are the worst thing to happen to breakfasts in history ...

Green cardboard, yum.

The Pogba of the food world.

I think it's fair to say that, if you really don't like avocados, they won't go with anything.

I love avocados.

I'm still not convinced by the whole poached egg approach, but then I don't like poached eggs. so, I have tried it with fried eggs (which I love) and scrambled eggs (which I love). and it still doesn't work. I just don't think eggs and avocado go together.

Egg yolks go with pretty much everything. Don't mind avocado. Wife's favourite breakfast is avacado, chili, tomato, bacon with poached egg on top. Lovely.

You either cant cook them or don't like eggs, they are one of the greatest forms of the egg, but you will do scrambles and fried ?

Is it the yolk you don't like ? What's wrong with you. Generally ..

Poaching eggs is like standing on the edge about to do a cliff jump for me. Nerve-wracking but life-affirming once you commit.

I think I've eaten avocado once. I don't like the look of them.

I love the yolk. I don't like the slime. I like my fried eggs flipped very briefly - leaving the yolk runny, but the skin crispy. I like the white a bit crispy, too.

I've never tried to poach an egg. you are dissing mrs jem and everyone who ever did.

as for what is wrong with me generally.... I feel you might get a thread ban for asking, so I'm going to ignore the question.

Fried eggs, poached eggs, boiled, scrambled… they’re all immense.

Avocado is horrible and I don’t believe in “superfoods”.
