Ibra is the sort of character and leader this team needs, looking over at Ashley Young isn’t really going to inspire anyone.

Where has he said he wants to return though?

Mata plays like he’s 48 so I’m open to it.

The young players buzzed off him. So did I.

Would Ole get the same shit about “holding back” the likes of Martial and Rashford though?

Also I’d love to see us give him the number 9 again...

It was always an unbelievably stupid point to make. Young players need older heads to look up to and learn from - and guide them when things don't go for them.

Even Ajax in 95 had poppa Blind, Rijkaard and Litmanen.

ah Litmanen. The source of the reason women shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a £#%&!ing football ground, much less report on it.

I was ridiculed when, after being asked on Sunday Supplement, the football discussion show on Sky Sports, what was the best performance by a player I had witnessed live. Yes, I have been in the same stadium as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo but while, in those moments, they had been fairly impressive, they had not taken my breath away.

Only one player has ever, literally, taken away my breath, and so Sunday Supplement viewers heard me utter the name Jari Litmanen. Now, whenever it is advertised that I will be on the show someone will always tweet, possibly sarcastically, that they are looking forward to me gushing over the former Finland international.

Amazing what arbitrary lines people choose.

Besides the sniff they had the season before he took over?

We finished 4th

Litmanen *was* a good player though.
