Compare and contrast the Liverpool thing last week.
I have absolutely no idea. Doubt the FA have.

the CCTV footage apparently showed Evra @#%&!ting the groundsman

Not sure whether it was found to be retaliation for physical or just verbal abuse

the FA have no evidence that Evra was provoked by racist comments, so used their discretion to do the groundsman (and Chelsea) for improper behaviour or someat

the bit that's %@#$&!s is the 4 game ban, of course

so whilst the stills in the press at the time are irrelevant, it's easy to see that the coverage of the incident in the football media might have played a part in the decision-making process

So, he reacts after getting abused by some chav @#%&! and he gets punished? £#%&!ing joke.

What the £#%&! were all those ground staff doing interfering with our players during the warm down anyway? It's obvious that they went out with the intention of antagonising our players. Probably feeling all giddy from their lucky 2-1, the @#%&!s. Well £#%&! them and their dead mothers, the shower of @#%&!s.

Those old £#%&!ers at the FA want a good kicking too. This happened in April ffs. The whole thing is completely shambolic.

We should hire a load of bouncers as “ground staff” in time for Chelsea’s visit in January. After the game, lamp all the rent boy @#%&!s on the pitch. Surely be worth the resulting fine

Ferige shocked by Evra ban

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has stated his shock at the punishment handed down to Patrice Evra by the Football Association.

The full-back has been banned for four Premier League matches and slapped with a £4,000 fine for his part in a fracas with a Chelsea groundsman, when the two sides met at Stamford Bridge last April.

The FA stated that they found Evra guilty of improper conduct and the ban means the French international will be out until, somewhat ironically, Chelsea's visit to Old Trafford on 11th January.

The 27-year-old remains a doubt for United's UEFA Champions League match with Aalborg after missing training on Tuesday.

The Group E clash would have been Evra's last match before the ban kicks in and missing it would mean the defender would not play for over a month.

The United boss is shocked by the outcome and as of yet is unsure whether the club will be appealing the decision.

He said: "It was a shock. Of all the things the FA have done to us down the years that was one of their biggest. I could not believe it.

"You could never tell what these people are doing. Even if I was sitting having breakfast with them I would not know what they were thinking.

"But we are still waiting for the written reasons to be delivered to David Gill so we cannot really comment on what our next step will be."
