It's just something we're going to have to get used to, namely, lesser teams shutting up shop against us for 90 minutes in the hope of getting a draw. Normally we are able to unpick them early on, and their entire gameplan goes out of the window, leading to us winning 5 or 6 nil. Sunderland were just very lucky we weren't quite as sharp up front as we should have been at the weekend. The outcome might have been totally different had Tevez started in place of Berbatov, and had Anderson come on earlier (and Giggs not at all).

Tevez should've started ahead of park, not Berbatov.

not his biggest fan but Nani should have played, thought we lacked width.

We narrowly avoided a nuclear attack from Iran last weekend.

Possibly true, but Berbatov did look overly laconic for most of the game. Park was his usual industrious self. Maybe that wasn't what we needed on Satdee. I agree we lacked width, but even when we did get it wide and cross it in, the Sunderland defence looked more than capable of dealing with it.

I didn't think he looked laconic, I thought it was more wry and obtuse. I agree though he didn't run about to no end enough. Park did.

As I mentioned elsehwere we hardly pressured the Sunderland defence when the crosses were put in.

Too often Rooney, Ronaldo, Berbatov and Tevez (when he arrived) were too deep. That's what I found the most frustrating. Playing most of the game in front of their back four (or ten). I applauded Park for going one on one with their keeper in the first half but I don't recall any of the forwards doing the same, they were the ones creating if anything.

We need to start shooting more when we get inside the box too. Too often we look for one pass too many. The pass from Berbatov to Ronaldo springs to mind. Why not shoot across goal a la Carrick against Citeh? Keeper may well have pushed it out and a rebound could have been there for Ronaldo or (another) to score. Like the Arsenal of recent seasons we try to walk the ball into the net.

Certainly no need for two deep lying midfielders at home either.
