Competition for Dalot can only improve him. And a fullback at fullback. Thats probably our right side business done this summer with Hameth too.

CB + Pogba + Lukaku. "The spine". Embarassment to spines around the world. replace those and that would realistically do for a window. Play some yoots and play decent stuff, touching distance of 4th. Go again

If Shaw can keep improving, then we should finally have some balance to that defence, with two promising, young, English full backs on each flank.

Wan will shore up the defence, as he’s solid defensively, which has to be the priority given how leaky we’ve been. Hopefully he can improve his attacking threat, as it’s such a crucial factor amongst the top teams to have assists flying in from the full backs. Priority is obviously tightening that defence though, before we even consider ourselves as a top team, so this is a good signing from Ole.

Please keep him away from that #@&%! Lingard, as he’s already corrupted Rashford. Don’t want this lad blinging himself up and using United to build his ‘brand’.
Well he can’t get any worse (I hope)

Said in the other thread, really happy with this signing. He looks class, and he's held his own for a season in the Premier League at 21.

The fee will get talked about, but it's not like no other club has spent around the same amount for a player in the same position. City paid £50mil and £55mil for two wingbacks within about a week two years ago. If that's the fee we gotta pay then I'm just glad we paid it instead of £#%&!ing about for weeks on end trying to save a few bob, when we're in a position to just spend what we need to spend to get transfers sorted.

He's 21, looks fantastic defensively despite starting out as a winger, has had a good season in the Premier League, and he can run forward at the opposition with the ball at his feet. Taking age out of the equation, I'm not sure there is another right back with the same plus points available we could've signed for less money.

From Jacob Steinberg in The Grauniad:

"Manchester United “have agreed to pay £55m” to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace. After weeks of negotiating a fee for the scorer of one of the finest own goals you’ll ever see, they’ve finally done it. Ed Woodward has finally done it! He really has! Hooray for Ed! They’ll be building a statue of him outside Old Trafford any day now! Forget the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand – how about the Sir Ed Woodward Stand? It has a nice ring to it. Except … hang on … hang on a minute … look here … oh … it says here … “contrary to earlier reports” … oh … oh dear … Manchester United and Crystal Palace haven’t agreed a £55m fee for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Oh. Oh dear. Oh Ed. Cancel the statue."

So...?

heard he's a good defending, average attacking? seems odd to buck the current trend where their attacking input is essential to breaking down top sides...

Exactly what I was thinking. If they want to slag Woodward off they should have a look on here, it's a goldmine.

Before he's even kicked a ball for us...

At least let Solskjaer, Lingard, "Rashy" and co get their claws into him first
