Is there a reason why he didn't want to play association football from 55minutes on ?

He was effective going forward in the first half.

Have to assume he shot his bolt. I would forgive him were it not for his chubby gut.

He'll have be exposed soon enough. Real sink or swim season.

.
This is part of the problem - how many more sink or swim seasons does he get?

Got absolutely annihilated by that Traore in the 2nd half, the same way he got annihilated by chelsea in the first half last week.

It's an obvious weak point now that teams are going to target.

Well he signed a five year contract last year and no-one in their right mind would want him, much less on the wages we're spaffing on him. In answer to your question, many more seasons.

Buying Maguire and Wan-Bissaka has left this kid with no place to hide.

I'm thinking that if we're running more this season, he'll struggle. Or lose weight. He is fat.

Apparently they told him to be slower than Mata.

Thumbs down

I've always been a fan, and defended him to the hilt, but it's worrying how he's started the season.

Remember him being such a confident player. Would bomb down the flank, and had a brilliant talent at taking the ball first time on the run, or whipping it first time. That explosiveness seems to have vanished.

Always seems to play the safe option, and never really seems to want the ball. This criticism is all from his play in the opposition half, too, when he's looked even worse defensively. Biggest season in his career, and he'll have no excuses if he stays injury free, as it looks like Ole is going to play him.

He's bounced back before, so I'm not writing him off yet, but he needs to be doing a lot more. Last thing we need is to have a headache at left-back after it's taken 10 years to sort the right-back spot out.
