Default Dean Henderson

[SIZE="2"](Previous thread was locked)

Reportedly a target for PSG, Spurs and Chelsea

Paris Saint-Germain plotting shock summer move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson as he shines on loan at Sheffield United

Quote:
Paris Saint-Germain are planning a summer approach for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

French giants PSG have joined Chelsea, Tottenham and Sheffield United in keeping a close eye on United's intentions for Henderson beyond this season.

Henderson has pushed his claims for a return to United, who view him as a future No 1, as well as a place in England's Euro 2020 squad during an impressive second season-long loan at Sheffield United...
Would be madness to let him go imo. Would rather cash in on De Gea and make him Henderson number 1 next season than lose a 22 year old keeper who is already pushing to be Englands first choice.

Agreed. Woodward will sort this as it ll be another cost cutting measure. Henderson will be much cheaper per week than DDG

Project fear. Seen an interview yesterday where he said his only aim is playing for us.

Offer them Dave on a cut price and get his huge wages off the wage bill.

Let Henderson and Romero compete for the number one next season.

He’ll be here next season, Romero and the other fella whose name I can never remember are both expected to leave in the summer. Henderson back to do battle for the No.1 with DDG next season, if Henderson is any good, DDG off to enjoy his dotage in Spain the following summer..

Henderson isn't going to be happy to be sitting on the bench and rightly so. A young keeper on the verge of the England side needs regular football.

I'd be happy to keep him instead of De Gea but can't see us being able to off load him.

We could continue to loan him out I suppose. Avoids making decision.

Genuine talk of him being no 1 for England at the Euros so that could move things along. Imagine the outrage if he has a stormer and then comes back to sit on our bench

Up to him to shift De Gea then, isn't it? Won't be hard if the tufty faced £#%&!er keeps chucking them in

Yep, surprised that he (DH) hasn't had some game time already tbh.

Well, he’s going to struggle when he’s playing for Sheffield United tbf.

Went out on loan at 19/20 tbf. Not many keepers get a go at United that young.

Very very tricky call. I think there’s nothing in football that’s as demoralising to a team than having a clown in goal, and whatever his weaknesses are, De Gea’s certainly not a clown. But we need a bit of personality back there; someone who can inspire a defence, take control of the area and get counters moving. Not bluffer personality like Pickford or Hart - all hat, no cowboy -, but a proper presence. De Gea, as good as he’s been, has always felt a bit separate and temporary.

Joe Hart, Jack Butland, Paul Robinson, Scott Carson, Jordan Pickford, Ben Foster.. a small sample of tales of caution when it comes to young, highly rated English goalkeepers...

If we could get money for De Gea I wouldn't be against moving him. Bringing in a nice wedge of cash and taking his wages off the wage bill could free up that bunce for other areas. Big risk though.

It's not as though we'd be suddenly losing a big voice at the back or massive influence on the team (imo). I think Henderson could bring a voice that De Gea doesn't have tbh.

[SIZE="4"]In the Premier League:

Apps:

De Gea: 27
Henderson: 26

Saves:

De Gea: 68
Henderson: 66

Clean Sheets:

De Gea: 7
Henderson: 9

Goals Conceded:

De Gea: 29
Henderson: 22

Punches:

De Gea: 5
Henderson: 11

High Claims:

De Gea: 5
Henderson: 15

Sweeper Clearances:

De Gea: 3
Henderson: 5

Throws:

De Gea: 118
Henderson: 77

Based on the stats alone, it sounds as though he'd be an improvement. It looks as though he's more dominant in the air, makes just as many saves and concedes fewer goals.

I almost put in brackets next to it that it's the Premier League's term, not mine, because it's £#%&!ing rank.

Yeah I think it's a catch.
