Varane is a top, top world class centre back. Always was. Didn't play in either the Brentford or Brighton losses, and only half hour at City. He's brittle, which is a shame, but there should be a 3rd functional - if not equivalent - caliber player able to step in to cover minutes when he is out. Maybe there will be in the future. One of the best in the world in his position is more than worth having in the squad, and you accept the downsides that come with it. |

Looks more like a hamstring rather than ligaments, judging by the way he managed to walk off. If that’s the case, I’d put his distress down to missing the WC as much as any pain. He’d be stretchered or shouldered off if it was ligaments, to avoid further damage, if nothing else.
